FIRE CEREMONY

There are two ways to do a Fire Ceremony, one with a real fire, preferably outside, or with candles.

I love holding a fire ceremony and have done many in the past. I found its one of the most powerful ways of letting go of negativity, so I would love to share with you this amazing tool.

As I have believed in the power of doing a fire ceremony, I’ve always felt to give it great respect and to make it very sacred, in honouring of the GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE.

A REAL FIRE

Having lit a glowing fire (usually in my fire pit ) a group of people would sit around it.

I would take on the role of the FIRE MASTER (that holds the fire ceremony) which means …. Keeping the fire going through out the ceremony, and adding on more logs and sticks.

Calling in the GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE, Ancient Grandmothers and other Beings

(list included at the end).

Drumming and Sounding, especially when opening up the fire ceremony and welcoming in the GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE and other beings.

Drumming and Sounding when each person comes to the fire and when they leave (others can join in with the sounding too, which all helps with the raising of the vibrations)

Giving THANKS at the end of each person’s session with the fire.

Giving THANKS to each one of the Beings who have been part of this beautiful fire ceremony, especially to the GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE.

Last Drumming and Sounding to end.

When the welcome, drumming and sounding and prayers have been given, each person in turn is named and called forward to the fire. With drumming and sounding.

They then sit or stand by the fire and ask (usually up to 6 things) they feel they want to give and let go to the GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE.

"I ask that I may give you please ...

EXAMPLE...

My frustrations

Sadness

Lack of confidence

Pain/illness

Loneliness

Lack of finances

With each one you can elaborate, giving more information and how you feel about each one.

(You can write these down, and burn at the end.)

Be creative

Before a fire ceremony, it is usually asked that you forage for the 6 sticks to represent each of the things given to the fire and another 6 for what you want to receive from the fire. As you are collecting the sticks to then think about the things and represent it with a stick. At the end you should have a bundle of 6 sticks to give and another bundle to take from the fire.

You then burn each stick one at a time,

as you talk about the thing that represents that stick.

When that person has given to the fire, drum and sound again, they then can ask …

"GREAT SPIRIT of the FIRE please can you give me...

EXAMPLE...

More confidence

More finances

Relief from any pain I have

A new partner or friend

More joy in my life

More love in my life

Again be creative

When everyone has had a chance to give and receive with the fire. More drumming and sounding is made.

Thanks are then given by the fire master and to finish more drumming and sounding.

CANDLE CEREMONY

I usually use a fire proof dish with about 9 candles, less if it a small dish.

I place the dish with the candles on a table with something protective underneath the dish.

Then do exactly the same as a real fire ceremony, but without burning the sticks.

Also any paper that’s used to write down the things you want to give and receive, is burnt at the end in a fireproof bowl or taken home to burn.

The fire ceremony starts with the lighting of the candles and ends with blowing them out.

The role of the Fire Master is to do the same, (they can also give and receive from the fire, usually at the end of everyone else.)

The drumming and sounding is the same.
